Exploring Amsterdam - Bike Envy, Pomme Frites, and Beer Cheaper Than Water

Overall I would say that Amsterdam was a very good time. While the local spots were sometimes not as pleasant or welcoming as the touristy ones it was generally a positive experience. Next time I come I am definitely renting a bike. I have had such bike envy this trip watching everyone enjoy the relatively car free environment.

The people here are very friendly for the most part. We even had some random guy stop and give us directions yesterday while he was running errands. I see now why Fearless always would say he is from New York when he returned to Europe on holiday. Everyone is fascinated by NY. They get this twinkle in their eye and grin on their faces like little kids when they say really you're from NY? I found it kind of funny. Some people asked if New York was as lively as this city and I have to say Amsterdam may have us beat. The beer is really cheap too often less than water.

Just don't forget to pack a towel.
